Privacy Policy
Effective September 12, 2026
Offshot does not require an account. Screenshot images and content stay on your device. Usage analytics, ads, purchases, and this website use network services.
Your Photos library
The app uses the photo access you grant to show screenshots and request deletion of the items you select. It does not upload screenshot images, recognized text, search content, or Photos asset identifiers to its analytics service or ad providers. Apple Photos and iCloud continue to follow your Apple settings.
Installation-based usage analytics
When usage sharing is enabled, our analytics service receives a randomly generated installation identifier, event identifiers, event order and time, app activity, photo-permission status, selection and deletion counts and outcomes, ad opportunities and outcomes, supported ad revenue amounts, purchase-screen and purchase/restore outcomes, and review-request API calls.
These events help us understand reliability and how features are used. They do not identify a unique person and do not prove that a review was submitted. We do not send names, email addresses, screenshot content, photo identifiers, or purchase transaction records in these events. We do not share this installation identifier with ad providers or combine it with other companies’ data for targeted advertising.
Cloudflare Workers and D1 provide the analytics endpoint, storage, and protected operator dashboard. Network providers process IP addresses and request information as needed to deliver and protect their services. Our event database does not contain IP addresses or raw request headers.
Advertising and privacy choices
When advertising is available, Google AdMob and the User Messaging Platform provide ads and applicable privacy choices. Google may process IP addresses and approximate location derived from them, device or app identifiers, ad impressions and interactions, crashes, performance information, and other diagnostics for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention.
The app requests non-personalized ads with restricted data processing. It disables publisher first-party identifiers and publisher personalization. Before requesting Google ads, it asks for iOS tracking permission. Google ads run only if you grant that permission. If you decline or tracking is restricted, the app skips ads and you can still delete screenshots. Change tracking permission in iOS Settings. Google may still collect the data listed above. Offshot does not send screenshot content to Google. Consent and purchase checks run before ad requests. If Google requires it, you can reopen Privacy Choices in Settings.
Ad-removal purchasers do not request or see ads after their entitlement is verified. Removing ads does not automatically change the separate usage-sharing setting. Google Privacy Policy · Google advertising controls.
Purchases
Apple processes payments and may ask you to authenticate your Apple Account. Offshot checks verified purchase entitlement on your device. Our usage service receives only a purchase or restore outcome, not payment-card details, Apple credentials, receipts, or raw transaction records. No subscription or app account is required for lifetime ad removal.
Your controls and retention
- Change Photos access in iOS Settings.
- Turn off Share Anonymous Usage in the app’s Settings to stop future usage collection and uploads.
- Reset Usage Data clears local usage state and creates a new local installation identity. It does not immediately delete events already sent to the server.
- Production event records become eligible for scheduled deletion after 35 days. Development events are separated and become eligible after 7 days; the public production endpoint does not accept development events.
- Reports of aggregated counts may remain without screenshot content. Service providers may retain limited security or operational records according to their policies.
